IT WAS ‘village life at its best’ in North Curry as the community rallied together to celebrate the Queen’s birthday.

Organised by resident Lorraine Bryan-Brow, North Curry’s St Peter and St Paul Church was adorned with beautiful blooming displays for a flower festival.

There were pieces by a host of people in the village, including from Guides and Scouts and the primary schools and nurseries, and there was even a replica piece made to reflect the Queen’s bouquet when she got married.

Lorraine said: “It was the most amazing success.

“Our theme was country gar - den as the Queen is a country woman so it felt right to do some- thing along those lines.

“Thank you to all of those who sponsored us, from offering the use of their trees to transporting the pieces to the church.

“There was the most wonder - ful atmosphere, especially when we were setting up and everyone was working together to help each other.

“We had great feedback, people were coming up to me and saying it was outstanding and the best flower festival they have been to.

It was village life at its best.”
