A ROYAL cruise ship day marked the final celebrations for the Queen's 90th Birthday at a Bridgwater care home.

Held on June 17 at The Rosary Nursing Home, bunting was hung and cupcakes were baked for the special event.

The staff and residents invited the community along for the open day, themed with a royal cruise trip.

Youngsters from Butterflies Nursery joined in the festivities which included quoits, bowls, golf on a putting green and high-tea refreshments.

Residents dressed in homemade tiaras and crowns, which they created for the special occasion.

The Sanctuary Care’s home manager Natali Edwards, said: "Holding a royal themed cruise trip was a lovely way to support the fourth annual open day– there was entertainment, lovely company and many smiles, just the way we like to celebrate."
