AN exciting new performance from Re:ACT Theatre School is heading to Burnham-On-Sea next month, and they are hoping to make their stay in the town more permanent.

'Little Shop of Horrors', a stage show about a Florist and his ever-growing plant, and also his ever growing infatuation for his co-worker,  is coming to the Princess Theatre in July.

Re:ACT Theatre School has branches in Weston-super-Mare, Clevedon and Portishead, but is also looking to set up a Burnham-On-Sea branch to help train local children in all aspects of musical theatre, song, dance and drama.

Natalia Barratt, from the Theatre School, said: “We are thrilled to bring our cast of 50 young performers, aged 5 – 18, to The Princess Theatre for their biggest show to date!

“Little Shop of Horrors will make you laugh, cry and dance in the aisles!”

The performance sees Seymour Krelborn, a nerdy orphan, spending his time doing menial tasks at a florist and dreaming of his sultry shop assistant, Audrey.

One day, Seymour discovers a strange and interesting new plant, naming it, Audrey II.

While caring for Audrey II, Seymour discovers the plant's rather unique appetite, and as the plant grows and grows, so does Seymour's infatuation for Audrey, but who will get her first?

The show will be performed at The Princess Theatre in Burnham-On-Sea on July 8 and July 9, but Re:ACT Theatre School is hoping to make more of an impression in Burnham.

Ms Barratt: “We are so excited to be opening a brand new branch in The Princess Theatre, Burnham!

“Rehearsing in a large, working theatre allows us to build skills, confidence and productions in the most professional and fun manner. We can’t wait, we hope you can’t too!”

The training that the school provides is taught by expertly trained tutors who help to build confidence, increase interpersonal skills and create team players, but its main aim is to have fun.
