Major reordering works on St Mary's Church are underway.
From Monday June 6, the church in Bridgwater will be closed until February 2017.
These works have been planned for a number of years and we were finally given approval from the Diocese of Bath and Wells last year.
The work will include a complete rewiring of the church, new LED lighting, energy efficient underfloor heating and the lowering of some floors to make access to all areas of the church possible for everyone.
A new kitchen with up-to-date facilities will be installed and the seating will be able to be moved to create a large flexible space that will be available for community groups to hire.
Services will continue from June 12.
These include 8am Holy Communion at Bridgwater Baptist Church, 9:30am Holy Communion at St. Mary's School in Oakfield Road, except for June 12 when it will take place at Chilton Trinity Church at 10am.
There is also 11:15am family service at St. Mary's School on the first Sunday of each month except August and 6:30pm Evensong at Chilton Trinity Church, with dates on the noticeboard outside St. Mary's, and Thursdays at 11am Holy Communion at Bridgwater Baptist Church (second and fourth Thursdays only.)
