EVERYONE loves a holiday, but it seems the people of Bridgwater particularly love a last minute getaway.
According to recent figures, the Somerset town been ranked first in a top ten list of the UK's most spontaneous spots for people booking a UK staycation.
There was an average of four days and 18 hours between residents booking their holiday and going on the trip itself, the survey by Snaptrip, online marketplace for last-minute UK cottage holidays, discovered.
Crawley, in West Sussex, came in second with five days, out of the list of 158 towns and cities in the UK.
Snaptrip user, Jane from Bridgwater, booked her weekend break to the Isle of Wight just three days before departure.
She said: "Snaptrip had a great choice of cottages for such a last minute break."
Matt Fox, CEO of Snaptrip, said: "We aim to remove the hassle of booking an impromptu UK getaway and not only make it easier for couple to experience a romantic break in the Lake District, or a family to enjoy the beautiful Cornish beaches, but offer them compelling discounts for doing so."
