RESIDENTS of Wellington were invited to confront dementia and become a Dementia Friend during Dementia Awareness Week.
The 45-minute, interactive Dementia Friends Information Session took place on May 19 during Alzheimer’s Society’s flagship awareness-raising campaign, which this year encouraged people across the country to ‘confront dementia’.
The charity is helping people to face up to dementia and share their worries about the condition.
The following day, the home was a sea of colour as residents and staff wore red and yellow to mark the end of Nynehead Court’s Dementia Awareness Week activities.
Angela Watkins, manager of Nynehead Court, said “We were delighted to be able to help local people become more aware of and understanding of dementia.”
