LEGENDARY snooker star, Judd Trump, graced the streets of Bridgwater with his presence for an evening of games.

The 26-year-old former world number one hosted the event at Spenny's Sports Bar on Eastover on May 18.

Local people were invited to purchase a ticket for the night and could play against against the Bristol-born champion.

John Bishop, who co-owns the sports bar, said: "It was fantastic having Judd Trump come and play with us for the evening.

"He played 10 exhibitions as well as frames against the locals.

"We had around 100 people come to the evening and it was great promotion for the club.

"It was very successful and our people really enjoyed having the opportunity to play against him, but everyone got hammered.

"Judd gave some of the younger players advice on snooker and held a question and answer session.

"He was a lot more quiet and shy than i thought he would be, but he was very professional."

A statement on the sports bar's Facebook page reads: "The Judd exhibition didn't disappoint.

"A true gent and professional that made the game look easy while the rest of us made it look like the balls didn't fit in the pockets.

"Was a pleasure to have you and thank you for taking time out of your schedule to accommodate us.

" Also a big thank you to Scooby and Kevin Sims for their refereeing, scoring and MC efforts."

In 2011, Judd Trump won the UK Championship where he defeated Mark Allen 10–8 in the final.

In November 2012, Trump won the International Championship and became world number one, a position he held for five weeks.

On February 18 2013, he reclaimed the top spot.

Trump is currently ranked at number three and trains at Grove Snooker Academy in Romford in Essex.
