FRIDAY will see the start of Co-op's Big Red Weekend where the company has partnered up with British Red Cross to tackle lonliness.
The event will be held between Friday, May 13 and Sunday, May 15, and is part of British Red Cross' Big Red Week.
Lisa Egan, the community pioneer for Ilminster Co-op, said: "Co-Op Ilminster are doing a number of things to help raise as much money for them as we can.
"There will be a cake sale on Friday, in the morning between 9am to 1pm. We also will be having a raffle to win a BBQ hamper and a competition to win a jar of sweets by guessing how many are in the jar.
"Winners for the raffle and competition will be told on Monday, May 16, as these will be running the whole weekend."
