PEOPLE in the Wellington area wishing to learn more about dementia and creating a dementia friendly community can do so at an Information Session at Nynehead Court this month.
Nynehead Court provides care for people living with the condition in its Mulberry Wing, and director Alyson Martin has recently trained as an Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Friends Champion.
On May 19, she will be holding a free information session in the home’s Orangery, which takes place from 2.30-3.30pm.
The event coincides with Dementia Awareness Week (May 15-21) and refreshments will be available afterwards.
Angela Watkins, manager of Nynehead Court, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer this session, and help local people to become more aware of and understanding of dementia. If you are interested in attending please contact me at Nynehead Court.”
