THE Beach Hotel in Minehead will be the venue for a new Bike Night.

Fay Dyke of Revive Minehead and Ian Human of Minehead Ink have been working with local bike enthusiast Tim Yeates, who initially suggested idea on social media, and the team at the Beach Hotel to get the idea off the ground.

"For anyone that is unsure about what a 'Bike Night' entails it is simply a pleasant meeting for all bikers to get together, admire each others motorbikes and have a chat," Miss Dyke said.

However whether you ride a bike or not, everyone is welcome to attend the event which takes place on Wednesday, May 4 from 6pm to 9pm.

"The hope is that this weekly event will become as successful as other bike nights that are held across the UK.

"It is not a racing event, the bikers are there purely for the ride out and chance to to meet like-minded people," Miss Dyke added.

The Beach Hotel are allowing motorbikers to park up on their forecourt outside the cafe, and want the event to have a family friendly atmosphere so members of the public young and old can get up close to the motorbikes.

Minehead has long been a popular destination for bikers, with the fantastic scenery and winding roads along the A39 toward Barnstaple regarded as one of Britain's best motorcycle rides.

Author of Biker's Britain, Simon Weir writes: "This ride boasts tight hairpins, sweeping, open turns, and some tremendous views across the Bristol Channel and over Exmoor.

"There’s also ample opportunity to re-fuel yourself at Barnstaple’s Pannier Market – one of the 10 top food markets in the country."
