I have often been asked how I can be so cheerful every morning when my show starts so early.

The answer is actually fairly straightforward.

It may be early for you when I first start but I’ve already been up a fair while before I get to the station.

You just don’t get much sense out of me after about 9pm in the evenings.

Talking of the station, it’s been another busy week in the world of radio here in Bridgwater.

Listen out in the coming weeks for chats I’ve had with Paul Young, the Proclaimers and Mari Wilson alongside top local band The Thatchers as well guests who will be making an appearance at Feel The Force day on May 14.

We are also hosting a special show on Thursday 28 from 6pm, when all seven candidates for the position of Police and Crime Commissioner will be live in the YMCA taking questions from the audience.

Full details are on the website.

Also, this Saturday sees a new member of the team take to the air as Jason Freeman hosts the morning show.

We are still looking for more volunteers to join our team, so if you fancy getting involved get in touch.

Finally, the answer to last week’s teaser:

How long is the River Parrett? It’s 37 miles long in total.

This week’s teaser: In which century was St May’s Church in the centre of town built?

No cheating, I’ll give you the answer in next week’s column. Have a great week.
