AHEAD of this summer's Nether Stowey Party in the Park, auditions are being held for budding performers.

A free festival warm up event is taking place on May 1 at Bridgwater Arts Centre at 8pm to find a selection of talented support acts to play at the party.

Each support act will play to a panel of judges from the festival committee and Dave Englefield from Sedgemoor FM.

If the judges like what they hear, all or some of the acts will be offered slots on a stage at Nether Stowey Party in the Park festival on June 3 and 4.

Dave Davison, festival organiser, said: "We wanted to run a promotional event both to give Bridgwater a taster of the great event to come but also to give locally based artists the opportunity to show what we would miss if we did not include them in our international line-up.

"We obviously chose Bridgwater Arts Centre to team up with as they have the facilities, contacts and organisational skills to make the event a success.

"The real clincher though was the opportunity to work with the enthusiastic and talented apprentices at Boomsatsuma Presents, who we've teamed up with."

The warm up night is set to feature festival headliner, Littermouth, and three local support acts, Stone Cold Fiction, Jonny Morgan and Chloë Warren.

There will also be an opportunity to buy discounted festival tickets.

Party in the Park is set to create a bigger and better festival this year, whilst raising funds for a new community centre in Nether Stowey.

Entry to the auditions is free- just turn up.
