CHILTON Trinity student, Alura-Rose De Vries, is cutting off 55cm of her hair for charity this term.
Alura-Rose, aged 11, has not had her hair cut properly since the age of four - instead only having it trimmed each time.
Now she is being sponsored to cut it off to help The Little Princess Trust, which provides real-hair wigs to children across the UK who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.
The other half of the money will go to the Get a Life charity.
Form tutor, Peter Stone, said: "Alura-Rose is an inspiration.
"She is a developing humanitarian and thinks of others more needy than herself.
"We hope that she raises all the money that she hopes."
