Dear Letters Editor The Conservative MP for Weston-Super-Mare, Mr. John Penrose wrote in the March 29 edition of the Bridgwater Mercury that Mr Cameron's EU renegotiation would be legally binding and the text explicitly provides that these measures should be incorporated into Treaties of the future.

Mr. Penrose did not say when these changes would be incorporated and the president of the European Parliament, Martin Shultz, stated that the European Parliament may amend any deal saying “No government can go to a Parliament and ask for a guarantee about the result.”

A poll carried out by the London Evening Standard showed that 57% of people did not trust the leaders of the other 27 EU countries to stick to the deal; 56% of people did not trust the Commission to stick to the deal and a whopping 60% did not trust MEPs in the European Parliament not to water down the deal.

Maybe the British Public know something about the nature of the EU that Mr. Penrose, along with Messrs Cameron and Corbyn, do not know.

Yours truly, Mrs Victoria C. Gardner Chance House 300 Church Street Bridgwater
