A MEN’S Shed breakfast drop-in is being held on Wednesday, April 13, at Nanny Ida’s Cafe on Church Street in Wedmore from 10am until 12pm.
The Men’s Shed ‘movement’ started in Australia as a means of attracting this part of the community into an environment where the men can work together ‘shoulder to shoulder’. It’s a very hands-on approach and the emphasis is placed more on coming together to work on small projects (bird boxes, picture frames, furniture repair etc) than on talking.
Village agent, Lucille Simms said: “The idea of the Men’s Shed group is very much a come and go group, there is no set timetable but more of a drop in on arranged days. There aren’t any expectations but a place to meet and share your skills or learn new ones. If you think that you maybe interested please do come along or get in touch.”
