DOCTOR WHO, The Millennium Stadium and a science park were all on the agenda as Swanmead school pupils crossed the border into Wales.

Year 6 pupils at Swanmead Community School enjoyed a fun-filled, action packed three day residential trip to the Welsh capital of Cardiff.

Mark Walker, Swanmead head teacher, said: "What a fantastic few days. Our young people were superb to take away and we really did enjoy a fun time seeing all that Cardiff had to offer.

"The Cardiff residential just gets better and better and needless to say we are booked in again next year."

The trip, from the January 20 to 22, involved a visit to the Doctor Who Experience, a guided tour of The Millennium Stadium and free time spent at the Techniquest Science Park.

All 58 children stayed at The Urdd City Sleepover at the recently transformed Cardiff Bay.

It is now the third year the school have taken a group over the Severn Bridge into the Welsh capital city.
