STUDENTS from across the South West headed to Taunton School last Friday for a medical and allied health professions careers fair.

The event gave youngsters the chance to explore a range of vocational degree paths within the health sector.

Professionals attending included an anaesthetist, chiropractor, dentist, GP, midwife, optician, osteopath, pharmacist, physiotherapist, psychologist, podiatrist, radiographer, radiologist, vet and veterinary nurse.

Taunton School’s head of careers, Mr Richard Judd, said: "We were delighted with turnout – the fair was a great success.

"With over three million people treated every week by the NHS, there are great opportunities to follow over 350 different careers available within both the NHS and the wider Health sector.

"Our Medical and Allied Health Professions Careers Fair gave students the chance to gather information but, more importantly, to talk to those who work in a range of Health sector jobs.

"At Taunton School we are committed to providing students with the widest possible Careers choice and this fair was just one of a series of events we stage during the year."
