The last week of January saw the launch of the Survival School, running in Hemyock by Children of the Forest.

The session was attended by pupils from three different schools, climbing trees, building dens, making campfire bread, roasting marshmallows, weaving ropes and using flint and steel fire lighters.

The two hour session also involved the children visiting some local woodland to explore, play games and learn new skills.

Over the coming weeks, the children will be practicing different skills and earning more certificates to show what they can do.

Children of the Forest runs on Forest School style principals where children are encouraged to assess their own risks and safety in natural environments.
