I was talking to my chum Roger Murphy, the Marketeer's model maker, who said his wife had been sorting though some old carnival photos. We were delighted at the unexpected bonus of finding this one, which shows her mother (the little girl in front of the well) from the 1920's.
We think it is Blake Gardens with the trees running alongside the river in the background and the edge of the steps which lead down to the town centre.
The little girl's name is Alma Mayled (nee Howells), who was the Bridgwater Conservative office secretary for Sir Gerald Wills and Tom King for all her working life before she retired.

David Peek
