A CARE worker from Chard has won top recognition at the Great South West Care Awards.

Somerset Care was delighted to announce that following her recent acknowledgement at group’s own awards, Pat Dare has now been named as the winner of the Home Care Worker award at the Great South West Care Awards.

Pat, who works for Somerset Care’s Community Services team in Chard, was nominated for going above and beyond by Linda, one of her clients.

As a regional award winner, Pat has now been shortlisted and invited to the Great British Care Awards, a national awards ceremony, which takes place in May 2016 in Birmingham.

The regional awards ceremony took place at Cheltenham Racecourse and Pat was delighted to have been accompanied by her nominator Linda and Matthew Brook, care manager.

Another Somerset Care employee, Janet Conway, who works at The Halcon Centre in Taunton, was also shortlisted for a regional award but unfortunately was not announced as a winner on the evening.

Speaking about Pat’s achievements, Matthew Brook said “We are all extremely proud of Pat; being recognised as an award winner for home care across the South West region is a huge achievement. Her colleagues and clients are all really pleased for her and we’re counting down until the national ceremony in May.”
