DONATIONS to the County Gazette-back Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment over the past week include £119.55 from a collection pot in Teare's newsagents, £521 from a raffle at Relyon, and £10 from Gerald Moore in lieu of sending Christmas cards, all from Wellington.
SURE, which equips the Beacon Centre cancer unit at Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital, also received £162.50 from the Words and Music for Christmas event at St John's Church, Hatch Beauchamp.
There was £150 from the residents of Ivy House Mobile Home Park, Henlade, from coffee mornings; £90 in memory of Andrew Grinter, from his family; £50 from W.P and M.R Lockett; and £101.95 from the Beacon Centre.
Donations of 5p coins totalled £3.80 from Sheila Cross; £13.45 from Creech St Michael WI; £72.15 from Charlotte Troup, of Rockwell Green; £52.35 from Mrs P. Carrol, of Street, and an anonymous £23.30.
This week's total of £1,370.05 means £579,646.56 has been raised for SURE since the charity linked up with the Gazette.
