I was interested to read about the 'death gap' story in the Mercury. I travel on the train quite often from Bridgwater, usually to Southampton. I find getting on the train in Bridgwater quite daunting as I have mobility problems. It's become such a problem and only by the grace of God that I haven't slipped down the gap between platform and train. Now when I book a journey, I book
passenger assistance and that takes care of the problem because they provide a ramp for me getting on and off trains.
I'm glad you've picked up on the problem as we're not all young and mobile. Thank you.
Jean Monnelly, Bridgwater.
