A TEAM of kind-hearted Lottery millionaires got in the festive spirit by rolling up their sleeves and mucking in to help a charity in Norton Fiztwarren.

The five, who boast a combined fortune of more than £10million, delivered presents and spread some Christmas cheer on a day volunteering at the Conquest Centre, where people with disabilities go horse riding.

Dione and Richard Buss, of Bridgwater, who scooped £1.9m in 2013, were joined by fellow jackpot winners Jenn Burston, of Exeter, and Paul and Denise Hardware, from Street.

They pulled on their wellies and got stuck in with yard duties, painting and supporting riding lessons.

Dione, whose daughter, Harriet, introduced her to Conquest after volunteering there a few years ago, said: "It's such a great charity which works with over 180 people each week.

"I was thrilled that we were able to help out and find out a little bit more about what the centre does for so many people.”

Teresa Wort, corporate and community fundraiser for Conquest, accepted gifts on the charity's behalf, including riding equipment and treats for the volunteers.

She said: “Our volunteers keep the centre running all year round and it was great to have some extra sets of hands to lighten their load for the day.

"We are also extremely grateful to the Lottery winners for their gifts - they will make a real difference in the months ahead.”

Over the last three years Conquest Centre has received over £25,000 via various forms of The Big Lottery Fund.
