THIS weekend will see the Santa Fun Run and Christmas Fair take place in Minehead.
The popular annual Rotary Christmas Fair will take place at West Somerset College at 10am on Sunday morning, November 29, before the festive fun run.
All money raised will go toward the Red Cross.

TOP-FLIGHT darts action is coming to Butlins this weekend as the PDC World Darts Championships returns to Minehead for a fourth year.
Stars such as Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor and Michael van Gerwen will be at the event which, will be broadcast live on ITV4.

THE Minehead and District Choral Society is performing a special concert at the Regal Theatre on Saturday at 7.30pm.
Led by conductor Marcus Capel, they will performing operatic favourites including Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana and Mozart’s Violin Concerto and tickets cost £10 for adults, £3 for students.

COME and remember the visit of Queen Catherine of Braganza, wife of Charles II, who visited Watchet to buy material dyed in Watchet Blue for the livery of her household.
She so enjoyed herself that she gave the townspeople a feast with dancing, hot cakes and cider and declared it an annual event to be known as Queen Caturn’s Night.
This year's celebration is on Saturday from 10am to 5pm on Watchet Esplanade.

STUDENTS from across West Somerset are joining together to send a message to the Climate Change Conference due to take place in Paris.

Pupils from Cutcombe, Timberscombe, Dunster, St Michaels C of E, Minehead First and Middle schools and Foxes Academy have been making artwork and messages for the conference where representatives from 195 countries will be discussing issues surrounding the environment and climate change.

 

Family, friends and the public are invited to a special Tea Party where the artwork will be displayed on Saturday, November 28 at the Avenue Methodist Hall in Minehead which will be opened by Mayor Jean Parbrook.
