A GRIEVING mother from Taunton whose toddler son tragically died earlier this year is hoping to raise £5,000 to help families of victims of the Paris attack.

Little Freddie Gibbons died suddenly and unexpectedly in March.

His family has been fundraising to buy cool mats for hospitals around the country, so that other families have the gift of time to say a proper goodbye to their loved ones.

Freddie's mum Hannah has already succeeded in raising enough money to buy a mat for Musgrove Park Hospital but now she is hoping to help those affected by the Paris attack, by raising money to buy a cool mat for the main hospital in the French capital.

It comes just days after the horrific terrorist attack in Paris which has so far claimed the lives of over 100 people.

A cool mat cools a deceased person, meaning their loved ones have a chance to spend longer with them.

Hannah said: "In the horrific hours after Freddie's death, we wish we could have spent more precious time with our son.

"We want to try and raise enough to buy a cool mat for the main hospital in Paris in memory of Freddie and all the people that have lost their lives.

"This equipment will give grieving relatives and friends a proper unhurried chance to say goodbye to their loved ones and give the poor people that have so cruelly had their lives taken, the dignity and respect they deserve.

"I feel their pain as we lost our beautiful son Freddie, so suddenly and tragically, aged just two-and-a-half-years-old.

"The horrific and agonising heartache that this attack has caused is horrendous.

To donate please pledge through the crowdfunding page, I really hope we can raise enough to help."
