STOGURSEY residents will have better access to local allotments, BMX track and play area thanks to new pathway improvements.

Stogursey Parish Council has enhanced the surface of the lane which links the highway to the Burgage Road recreation space making it easier for people to reach the site.

Now the whole community can access the allotments, BMX track and play area using the new Tarmac surface.

The project has been paid for through West Somerset Council developer Section 106 contributions for Stogursey with match funding coming from Stogursey Parish Council.

Cllr David Westcott, Lead Member for Community & Customers, said: “I am delighted to see Stogursey Parish Council is meeting the needs of the whole community by enabling people with additional physical needs and families with prams to reach the new recreation site.”

Cllr Chris Ford, from Stogursey Parish Council, said: “The Burgage Road recreation facilities are very popular with our community and we are pleased to be able to use the funding to provide this valuable link.”
