A TRACTOR run of 40 vehicles has raised more than £800 for charity.

The trip through the South Somerset countryside, which started and finished at Marleymows Farm Shop, was raising money for St Margaret's Hospice.

Around 40 tractors took part, with 50 passengers, travelling through Nimmer, Chilworthy, Horton, Broadway, Buckland St Mary and Bishopswood where a stop was made at the Candlelight Inn for a oil and water check.

The return journey to Barleymows was via Marsh, Howley, Whitestaunton, Combe St Nicholas, and Wadeford – in all around 25 miles.

It is the sixth year that the event has been organised by Anthony Warren.

Combined with last year's total, he along with Barleymows staff presented a cheque for £1535 to Sue Hooper, the Somerset St Margaret's Hospice shop manager in Chard.

Anthony Warren said: "A prize draw was held and I would like to thank all businesses and individuals that donated prizes.

"I would like to say a big thank to everyone for their continued support and especially to Rose and all her staff at Barleymows Farm Shop."

The attached pictures show the tractors parked at the Candlelight Inn while the participants took some refreshments and the presentation of the cheque, which includes last year’s total of £732 making a grand total of £1535 with Anth Warren (Myself) and Sue Hooper ( Somerset St Margarets Hospice shop manager Chard) along with Barleymows staff from left to right Carol Snowley, Amy Dorse, Elaine Munt and Shannon Studley.
