BURNHAM will have an ice rink this Christmas after funding from the town council was given the green light.
The group behind the plan to bring a skating to Burnham on an artificial rink say they are able to put on other activities thanks to the funding.
Kathy Jones of the Burnham Events Social Team (BEST) said the group said the rink would bring a new audience to Burnham for Christmas shopping alongside the existing Frostival.
She said: “We will be opening the Rink early December with a fun fair and other crowd-pullers and it will be able to take up to 25 skaters at a time. For those new to the town it will showcase what we have to offer and no doubt they will be back once they see what we have to offer especially in terms of independent shops, cafes and bars.”
“The rink will send out a message far and wide that we are a town which likes to put on a show and welcomes families.”
