A CHARITY football match will help fund the refurbishment of the gardens outside a homeless hostel.
Over £2,500 was raised at the annual game in memory of James 'Jimbo' Norie, who was assisted by Taunton Association for the Homeless before his death in 2000 on the eve of his 22nd birthday.
The cash raised during the game at the Wyvern Club, Taunton, was bolstered by sponsors, including Barclays Bank.
Jimbo's father, Neal Norie, said: "TAH are going to refurbish the whole front and back gardens of Norie House and the residents are going to take ownership of this project themselves.
"Last year with the funds from the football day a new kitchen and flooring were fitted in Norie House.
"It was a brilliant day and night and on the football pitch experience triumphed over youthful enthusiasm as Jimbo's Veterans beat Jimbo's Youth 6-2."
