COLLECTION pots in stores have helped towards the £603.04 raised for Taunton-based cancer charity Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy over the past week.
The cash goes towards the County Gazette-backed SURE appeal to help equip the Beacon Centre cancer unit at Taunton’s Musgrove Park Hospital.
There was £44.90 in the pot at Tesco Express, East Reach, Taunton; £82.84 at Tesco Express, Galmington, Taunton; and £25.70 at Lizzie’s Kitchen, in Burnham.
Hazel Hughes donated £5, while Mr R. A. H. Smith, of Puriton, raised £75 through a quiz.
Joy Irish and member of the Club at Henlade, raised £40 in 5p coins and most of the £121.85 given via the Beacon Centre was in 5ps.
A collection at Morrison, in Taunton, realised £206.75.
The amount raised since SURE linked up with the Gazette now stands at £543,940.73.
