THE carnival season kicked off on Saturday when the Mayor of Taunton Cllr Marcia Hill and her consort Julian Hill attended Axbridge Blackberry Carnival in Somerset.
The afternoon event was blessed with fine weather and together with the mayor from North Petherton Cllr Alan Bradford, she took part in the parade.
More than a thousand people packed the town’s ancient square for the afternoon event.
