CONCERN is growing for a Taunton man who has been missing since Sunday.

Josh Clayton, who went to Heathfield School lives in Tresco on the Isles of Scilly.

He was last since ar around 1.30pm on Sunday (September 13) at the shed near the Abbey, after he had been out socialising with friends.

The 23-year-old did not report for work later that morning and was reported missing to police at 3pm. Josh’s family have been informed.

Josh is described as white, 5ft 11ins tall, of slim build, with ginger hair and a stubbly beard. He was last seen wearing black skinny jeans and a white t-shirt.

Police have been out searching along with teams of coastguard, dogs, helicopters and members of the public.

 Sgt Colin Taylor said: "We are asking residents and people staying in Tresco to help us by searching their sheds, outbuildings and greenhouses for Josh, in case he is taking shelter there.

“We would also encourage residents to assist elderly neighbours by searching on their behalf.

"The terrain is dense undergrowth at times and a methodical approach is essential to our efforts. Police Officers on the Mainland are also conducting essential enquiries not on Scilly.

"I'd like to thank all those so far who have done so much to support this hunt for Josh, many of whom have done so voluntarily. The support all those at Tresco Estate are providing to these teams is hugely appreciated by all.

"Our enquiries continue to indicate that Josh is somewhere on or around Tresco.

"If anyone reading this knows of information that could indicate otherwise please let us know direct via 101 or approach us here on Scilly.

"Anyone who sees Josh, or knows of his whereabouts, is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 552 of 13 September."
