A BRAVE Bridgwater man is leaping out of a plane to raise money for the Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal charity for Bristol Children’s Hospital.

Richard Turner decided to take part in a parachute jump after two children in his ten-year-old daughter’s school class were diagnosed with brain tumours that were found to be cancerous.

They had the tumours removed and spent a lot of time in the Bristol Children’s hospital for recovery and medication.

Richard said: “One of the children is a very good friend of my daughter.

“I decided to do the skydive to try to raise funds to help families of sick children and make their lives more comfortable whilst staying at the hospital after operations, some in the last days.

“Some children who spend time there are not lucky enough to survive, and by donating, you will make their last days as comfortable as possible."

“Raising funds would go towards providing equipment such as DVD players, TVs, games, and anything else they need during their stay at the hospital.”

Richard has so far raised £810, smashing his target to raise £700, but would love to raise as much as he can before the jump on September 19.
