A BRAVE Burnham youngster has had her Rapunzel-like locks chopped off for charity.

Leia-Mae Adams, nine, has donated ten inches of her hair to The Little Princess Trust, which provides real-hair wigs to boys and girls who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.

Leia-Mae, who is a pupil at St Andrew’s school, decided that she wanted to help the charity in memory of family friend Joe Laoutaris who died from cancer earlier this year. She has managed to raise £463 so far, with more donations welcome.

Leia-Mae said: “I was shocked by the amount of donations made and I’m even getting sponsors from people I don’t even know.

“I just want to help children suffering with hair loss. Thank you to Josh and Unique hairdressers in Burnham for helping on the day."

“I’m extremely proud of her,” said Leia-Mae’s dad Dean Adams.
