A BUSY weekend at Falmouth Golf Club saw players turn out for several competitions, writes Keith Rashleigh.
The biggest was the Pendennis Brass Open with golfers turning up from fair and wide to help raise funds for the band on Sunday.
John Sanz and Mike Bartlett came first with 49 Stableford points, three ahead of Fred Goodman and Derek Collins.
In the ladies section, Kath Kelly and Lynn Innes hit a splendid 43 to win, while Archie Fox and James Dempsey's 35 was good enough to finish top of the juniors.
Martin Almond and Roger Dunstan scored 46 to claim the senior title as £1,119 was raised on the day, much to the delight of band chairman Glyn Thomas, who thanked everyone at the club.
On Saturday, the Gibbons Cup was easily won by Rik Shaw as his hit a superb net round of 62, putting him seven shots ahead of Tony Schorah and Phil Jones.
The Evans Cup was won by Rob Churcher, who pipped club president Bob Wooldridge by one point.
