So four strangers got married in a whirlwind wedding. But the big question is what happens next?

Will they be able to stand each other after living together for a month?

The final episode of Channel 4′s Married at First Sight aired and viewers were on tenterhooks.

How did the couples fare after being shortlisted from 1,500 people?

James and Emma

“We slept together in the same bed,” said Emma about their first night, with a slight giggle. “Yeah… it was all good.”

But James didn’t divulge, only saying: “That first night you should just keep between… husband and wife.”

So much for juicy gossip.

The couple went to Iceland for their awkward honeymoon and learnt more about each other.

Emma found James attractive but discovered she didn’t like the whole touch-feely thing. James on the other hand said he was a more tactile kinda guy. Does this mean trouble?

We also learned that Emma had never been in a live-in relationship before as they moved in together after what looked like a glorious honeymoon.

But James always appeared considerate – especially when he gave up his wardrobe space for his new wife. Bonus points for James!

But of course, after setting up a cosy nest and inviting friends to their digs, there were still lingering doubts that come with marrying a total stranger.

“It’s been a tough few weeks… it taxes you,” a weary-looking James told the cameras. But in the end did the pair, who were told they were 100% compatible, work out?

“We are not getting a divorce,” said Emma.

Woohoo!

Phew. And there was some special love for James.

Kate and Jason

Married at First Sight
(Channel 4)

The couple were a mega hit with viewers from the moment they set eyes on each other at the wedding. Kate looked resplendent in her wedding gown and we all thought Jason was a lucky lucky man.

But as you’d expect, their first night was a bit awkward. Or was it?

“I didn’t sleep well at night,” Kate said.

The couple went to Ireland on their honeymoon and were seen bike riding and clay pigeon shooting before soaking into a hot tub and sharing yet another awkward kiss. Jason told Kate he thought she looked beautiful and everything seemed like paradise.

“We felt instantly comfortable with each other,” Kate said about the honeymoon while Jason added: “We were quite touchy but not over the top… it felt quite nice.”

But soon cracks started to emerge and it wasn’t all wedded bliss. Jason became more withdrawn and Kate became more distraught.

“Sometimes he is quite cold,” Kate said in her video diary, while Jason admitted he found the “physical side of things” quite tough.

Jason decided to take a break from the cameras while the couple got in touch with phycotherapist Jo Coaker to intervene…only for Jason to be a no-show at the meeting.

However the final straw was when Kate found out that Jason was active on Tinder.

“The ring is off and I am done,” said Kate. The newlyweds broke up two weeks after marriage.

Loads of support have been pouring in for Kate. Maybe she dodged a bullet there…

Until next time…
