OVER 150 Minehead Middle School Year 5, 6 and 7 pupils received certificates, medals, cups and trophies on Tuesday July 14 at the school’s annual Prize Giving ceremony, watched by 300 proud parents, families, staff and special guests.

The children received awards for being the highest attainers, making the most improvement and the greatest effort in each curriculum subject from the school’s Chair of Governors, Mrs Martina Forster and special guests – Mr Chris Blazey, incoming Executive Head of the Exmoor Coast Federation and Headteacher of St Dubricius First School, Mr Marcus Capel, Headteacher of Timberscombe and Cutcombe First Schools and Mr Peter Hoyland, Headteacher of Dunster First School. This year’s special guest was Mrs Christine Lawrence, Chair of Somerset County Council and one-time Chair of Governors at the Middle School.

Certificates were also awarded to the most helpful children in each tutor group.
