TWO-time Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Kauto Star, who was trained in Somerset, has died aged 15.
The gelding, trained by Paul Nicholls in Ditcheat and owned by Clive Smith, was put down after suffering a fracture to the pelvis following a fall.
Kauto Star won 23 of his 41 races - including five King George VI Chases - and won the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 2007 and 2009.
