BRIDGWATER’S Big Bash is gearing up to be a fun filled fantastic day.

The event on July 4 aims to celebrate all that is good about the town.

There is a host of music, arts, food and craft events being held on Castle Street just off the West Quay on Saturday July 4. The fun starts at midday and continues to around 8.30pm.

The day-long line up includes 14 different bands and an award winning spoken word artist on two stages. In addition, there are 25 stalls selling locally produced goods and crafts such as jewellery, ornaments, ice-cream, cider and candles to peruse with a drink or two from the outside bar run by Will’s Carnival Club.

A crafts zone in the middle of the street will enthrall children and you can get involved in puppet making, a dance workshop, a laughter workshop run by a world class laughter expert who regularly works with celebrities like Chris Evans and Loose Women.

The British flag Carnival club are running the burger and hog roast stand and if it all gets too much, take refuge in the Arts Centre, where you will find a peace garden.

If you fancy a laugh, don’t miss out on the five-hour comedy-a-thon run by the creator of the Taunton Comedy Festival in the Arts Centre’s bar.

The day is all about celebrating Bridgwater and local people will be asked to put their memories on the Memory tree as well as a 50 metre poem being written on the day.
