PLANS are now finalised for Moonraker 2015, an event organised by the Rotary Club of Taunton Vale which raises money for charities.

The challenge is an evening/night time walk starting from Taunton Racecourse and covering routes of either seven or 14 miles with prizes award for fastest time and the most sponsorship money raised.

This year's charities are Riding for the Disabled, Reminiscence Learning and other Rotary charities.

Friends of Riding For The Disabled are hoping to raise more sponsorship for Moonraker, by organising a cream tea afternoon and a skittles and buffet evening.

The skittles evening will take place on July 17 at The Kings Arms in Taunton from 7.30pm.

There will be a kitty with the winnings being split between the winner and the charities and a buffet will be served.

Tickets cost £10 and must be purchased in advance by calling Lesley Harold on 01823-412304 or emailing leslesy@fivehigh.co.uk The cream tea will be taking place on August 1 from 2-5pm at Tanglewood, West Monkton.

There will be tea, coffee, squash and cake and plant and craft stalls and a mosaic demonstration.

President Richard Goring of the Rotary Club of Taunton Vale said that from the Moonraker Night Walk last October- £11,522 was raised, £4,000 was raised from the Lord Fellowes Speaker Dinner in April and a further £844 from the balance of It’s ChildsPlay funds.

The Total was £16,366.

Paula said she was delighted by the sums involved, and thanked the Club for its support over the years.
