MOST 11-year-olds are preoccupied doing their homework or messing about outside, but one Brent Knoll girl is busy hoping for a record deal from Simon Cowell.

Gracie Wickens-Sweet, 11, made it to the semi-finals of national TV show Britain’s Got Talent with her powerful singing voice and is now hoping Simon will clinch the contract.

If this wasn’t enough to get her head around, Gracie has also been asked to support last year’s winners Collabro in a performance at Westland’s inYeovil on Saturday July 25.

“Gracie’s really excited to be asked to do it,” said her mum Anne. “The link to Collabro is obviously quite prestigious and their musical theatre style compliments her.

“Jamie from the band tweeted about her so I think he’s quite stuck on her performance. “She’s really hoping something will come out of this. Gracie is under Simon Cowell’s management for three months and we’re all hoping for some sort of deal.

“It would be a massive boost. Collabro are already signed with him.” Gracie narrowly missed out on a place in this year’s final after performing the hit Reflections from Disney’s Mulan.

“Britain’s Got Talent was a one-off experience for her,” says Anne. “She had people running around after her and it was her dream come true to be able to come down on the swing singing with the moon behind her.” Gracie is currently away on school camp in Torquay with her friends.
