QUEUES are starting to form outside the gates at Taunton's County Ground ahead of Somerset's first NatWest T20 Blast match of the season.

A capacity crowd is expected at the home game against Sussex, which gets underway at 5.30pm today, Friday, May 22.

Somerset will be hoping to get off to a better start in the shortest form of the game after suffering three defeats in their first three Championship matches - although this week they beat Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.

Sussex have already played twice in the T20 competition - losing to Kent at Canterbury before just edging home when they entertained Gloucestershire.

Somerset director of cricket Matt Maynard said: "Sussex have already played two games so will have their plans together about how they want to play, while we have been busy with four-day cricket.

"However we have discussed the match and know what team we want to go with and how we want to play."

Somerset will be skippered by Alfonso Thomas, while Pakistan Test player Sohail Tanveer is expected to make his debut for the Cidermen.
