THREE Taunton School students, who won the County Drama Festival in March have now qualified for the British All-Winners Final.
Year 10 students Abi Casson, Tia Hawkins and Billy Hemmings travelled to Iron Acton in Gloucestershire on Saturday (April 25), to perform “Teechers” at the Five Counties Festival.
Head of Drama, Mrs Jane Harris, who accompanied them, said: “We enjoyed an amazing day of very high standard performance work.
“The pupils got a fantastic adjudication for a fabulous piece of ensemble work and, although we didn't win outright, we achieved a certificate of merit for our high standards and a cheque for £50.
“The cast could not have performed any better and we were only pipped to the post by a much older youth group whose performance could only be described as inspirational.
“The students learned a great deal about different styles and dramatic techniques which they can apply to their own examination work in the future.
“The pupils truly flew the Taunton School flag and received many flattering comments from the audience.”
The British All-Winners Final takes place in July.
