LORD Fellowes, creator of hit TV show Downton Abbey gave an insight into the world of show business at a charity fundraising dinner at Oake Manor Golf Club last Wednesday.
He answered questions from some of the 250-strong audience read out by his wife, a great niece of First World War General Kitchener.
Over £8,000 was raised at the Rotary Club of Taunton Vale event in aid of Children’s Hospice South West, Lord Kitchener National Memorial Fund and Rotary Charities.
Supporting guest speaker was Eddie Farwell, founder of the children’s hospice at Little Bridge House, Barnstaple.
Lady Fellowes conducted an auction of donated prizes and afterwards she and her husband signed copies of their donated books, which were also prizes.
Lord Fellowes was thanked by Rotary Club president Richard Goring, who also praised the support and organising of club members Malcolm Turner and Paul Hughes and Oake Manor Events.
