SOMERSET County Cricket Club players paid a visit to children at bibic in Langport on Friday, (April 17).

Cricketers Max Waller and Adam Dibble, director of Cricket, Matt Maynard and Strength and Conditioning coach, Darren Veness visited the charity as part of its community engagement work.

Spencer Bishop from Somerset County Cricket Club, said: “We are dedicated to playing our part in the local community and all of our players are more than happy to do their bit.

“It is vital that we as a club continue to support local events, charities and community groups.

“We know what great work bibic does with children and their families across the country so we contacted them to see if we could work together.

“All of our players had a great time meeting the children and their families on the day.”

The players spent time at the charity’s headquarters and learnt more about the extensive work it does to help children with various conditions and their families.

Mary Matthews, Fundraising and PR Manager for bibic, added: “We’d like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to the members of the cricket club for visiting.

“The children had great fun meeting and interacting with them.

“The players were also be given a guided tour by Jon Shoesmith, our Interim CEO and taught more about what we do and what different equipment and technology we use and how it helps.

“We hope this will be the start of a great relationship with the club in the future.” bibic helps children and young people aged from six months to 18-years-old with conditions affecting their development and learning abilities to achieve their potential for a happier and more fulfilled life.
