RNLI volunteers at Burnham will be opening the lifeboat station for a weekend of fun activities next month as part of a series of national fundraising events.
This May bank holiday lifeboat volunteers across the UK will be hoping to raise cash through events with a yellow wellie theme to mark the RNLI’s latest fund-raising initiative ‘MayDay’.
Burnham crews will be opening the lifeboat station for a weekend of fun such as a teddy tombola, knitted wellies on sale, a sale of games and puzzles, a drawing competition, and a raffle.
The Atlantic 75 Lifeboat will also be on display. Refreshments will also be available as well as a hog roast.
Mike Lang, Burnham Lifeboats press officer said: “The station will be open on Saturday and Sunday for lots of fun activities. Come, meet us, and bring the children along.”
Anyone willing to donate books, games or raffle prizes, or anyone thinking about becoming a lifeboat volunteer can contact Mike on 07889 815860.
