SOMERSET folk are being invited to support a children’s charity in the county by purchasing West Country fruit cake from a farm shop in the area.

Rumwell Farm Shop is donating 25p from each sale of its West Country fruit cake to its charity of the year bibic until the end of 2015.

Anne Mitchell, Co-Owner of the farm shop, which is located between Taunton and Wellington, said: “We wanted to host a fundraiser that could last for a number of months and it seemed like a great idea to donate money from each sale of our homemade fruit cake to the charity.

"We will also be donating 10p from every pack of blackcurrant bon bons we sell too. “bibic do a fantastic job supporting children and young people with conditions affecting their development and learning abilities.

"Staff work closely with the parents and guardians to create a therapy programme, which will give them the skills and strategies to support their child. We are delighted we can support them so they can help even more children. ”

bibic helps children and young people aged from six months to 18-years-old with developmental conditions such as Autism, Cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and brain injury.

Mark Flower, Corporate and Community Fundraising Officer for bibic, which is a national charity located in Langport, said: “We would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to Rumwell Farm Shop for hosting this fundraiser for us.

“It’s a great way to help us raise funds and awareness of the work we do for children and their families’ nationwide.”
