THE churchyard in Bradford-on-Tone has been given a clean up by offenders doing work in the community as part of their sentence.

Community Payback supervisor Andy Lowder said: “The groups have worked hard and a lot of work has taken place with a noticeable result clearly visible in the churchyard."

Churchwarden June Best said: “The work that has been done around the boundary by this group has enhanced the churchyard.

“They have achieved a considerable amount of work in a relatively short amount of time, and have been tidy workers.

“We thank them very much for their contribution and will be very happy to be involved in another project as the work arises.
