ROTHSCHILD Bank has donated £250 to charity Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment, which helps buy equipment for the Beacon Centre cancer unit at Taunton’s Musgrove Park Hospital.
Other donations for the County Gazette-back charity include £5 from Hazel Hughes, £18.22 from the collection pot at the Esso Garage, on Wellington Road, Taunton, £61.33 from the collection pot at the Gazette and £21.85 from the Post Office at Trull.
There was also £365 from Valerie Breen and her twin sister Vera Bancroft in lieu of 70th birthday presents, £230 raised by Taunton Pool during a fundraising event last week and £203.70 from the Beacon Centre collection, which included £2.90 in 5p coins from Creech St Michael WI, £2 in 5ps from Lynda Turner and £164 in 5ps from the Beacon Centre.
The total this week is £1,155.10, meaning a total to £513,367.84 has been raised since SURE linked up with the County Gazette.
