DAVID Laws MP has congratulated a number of local charities on receiving investment from The Big Lottery Fund through the Awards for All initiative.
Awards were given to six local charities totalling £50,027, including cash for a new footpath in Seavington.
The Seavington Playing Field Association charity was awarded £10,000 to fund the development of a footpath which will improve accessibility around the village.
Mr Laws said: “I am delighted so many great causes in our area have received money from the Big Lottery Fund to help them carry on with their invaluable work.
“I am sure the awards, which total over £50,000, will be spent well and really help our local communities.”
